Do I send my application for the examination to Pearson Vue?

No. Send the application to the AAID Headquarters Office.

On my application, should I request that my computer-based examination be scheduled on a specific day and at a particular test center?

No, specify the time period during which you wish to take the examination, e.g., June 13 - 17, 2011. The AAID's role in the appointment process is to give Pearson Vue a list of the persons they are authorized to schedule for the AAID examination. Each applicant must make his or her own appointment.

How should my name appear on the application?

Put your legal name on the application. (If your name is different in the AAID membership database, also specify that name on your application.) Then use this same name when you register for the examination. At the testing centers, you will be required to show two forms of identification that include the same name that you put on your application or you will not be allowed to take the examination.

May I take the print format of the exam at the Pearson Vue test center?

No, the Pearson Vue test centers give only the computer-based format of the exam.

When do I pay the examination application fee?

The USD 950 application fee must be paid when the application is submitted to the AAID Headquarters Office.

How do I pay the application fee?

As noted in the Payment section on page 3 of the application, the USD 950 fee can be paid in one of three ways: a check that is drawn on a US bank and payable in US dollars, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express), and wire transfer. If paying by wire transfer, attach a copy of the bank receipt to the application.

How can i obtain information about the locations of testing centers?

There's a link to the "Locate a Test Center" site in the fourth paragraph of the Associate Fellow/General Information part of the Credentialing section of the AAID web site (www.aaid.com). Measurement Research Associates, which coordinates the AAID examinations with Pearson Vue, negotiates for the availability of other sites as needed.

When can I register (make an appointment) for my examination?

Registration for the exam opens three months before the examination period begins. The information authorizing you to register will not be in Pearson Vue's system until shortly before the registration period begins. Therefore, do not try to register with Pearson Vue until the date that the registration period opens.

I was told that the computer-based examination will be given in my city at the end of the MaxiCourse® in which I am enrolled. However, this site is not listed on the Examination Schedule.

The schedule includes the periods that the computer-based examination will be available at Pearson Vue testing centers throughout the world.

Must my application process be complete, with all fees paid, before I can schedule a testing appointment?

Yes. Your application must have been accepted and all fees paid before you can schedule your exam.

How do I schedule my examination?

When your application is accepted, the AAID's Director of Education and Credentialing will send you a letter that includes the information that you need to make an appointment at the Pearson Vue test site of your choice. If you live outside the United States, you will receive this letter by e-mail. Therefore, be sure to put your e-mail address on your application.

You can register for the examination by either telephone or online. As noted in the aforementioned letter, "....according to Pearson, the phone center offers the most up-to-date information, the greatest site availability and more extensive service."

Pearson Vue has three regional phone centers: Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East, Africa. The letter that you will receive from the AAID will include the telephone number for the phone center that you should call, when the center is open and the time zone in which the center is located.

If I cannot take the examination at the time that I am scheduled, what should I do?

First, contact Pearson Vue to cancel your appointment. Then, when you receive a confirmation from Pearson Vue that your examination has been canceled, notify the AAID Headquarters Office of the cancellation by telephone (877-335-2243, toll-free: 312-335-1550): fax (312-335-9090) or e-mail (joyce@aaid.com). If you wish to take the computer-based examination during another examination period, also provide that information when you contact the AAID Headquarters Office.

Will I get my scores at the test center when I complete the exam?

No. The AAID will mail your test results as soon as possible after the completion of the testing period, typically within four to six weeks. If you live outside the United States, the results will be sent to you by e-mail.

If I encounter problems related to registration or the testing center, whom do I contact?

Call the Pearson Vue Call Center at the telephone number in the AAID's letter notifying you of your application's acceptance and providing instructions about how to register for the exam. If you misplace that letter, go to www.pearsonvue.com/MRA/contact. There you will find the telephone numbers for the three regional call centers and the hours that they are open.
